Seedrs chosen to help boost Welsh businesses with crowdfunded support

The crowdfunding platform Seedrs has announced that it has been selected as a strategic partner to support the Welsh Government’s Accelerated Growth Programme (AGP).

Backed by the European Regional Development Fund, the AGP is a new £20m, six-year business support programme aimed at high growth companies. The programme aims to work with 1,000 ambitious, export orientated businesses based in Wales.

Newport-based Impact Innovations, in consortium with Manchester-based Winning Pitch, will take the lead in delivering the AGP together with several key partners. Seedrs will serve as the funding partner and will work to provide opportunities for programme participants to raise capital and build community through equity crowdfunding. Other partners in the programme include KPMG, Santander, HSBC and IP Group.

Businesses selected for the AGP will will receive up to 3 years support based around coaching and mentoring from a group of experienced entrepreneurs, access to professional advisory services to overcome typical growth challenges, a series of management development master classes and networking and trading opportunities through a high growth foundation.
