McDonnell calls Boris Johnson ‘reckless’ and ‘unstable’

John McDonnell

John McDonnell the shadow chancellor has strong concerns over Boris Johnson he said he is “extremely worried” about him being the prime minister.

Johnson famously said he would lie down in front of bulldozers to stop the third runway being built at Heathrow airport.

McDonnell said on Tuesday in an interview with Iain Dale at the Fringe Festival, “I think he’s reckless and I think he’s unstable and I will move heaven and earth to stop a no-deal Brexit.”

He added, “I think we will beat him.”

Speaking on hi character he said, “he’s intelligent, manipulative and ruthless.”

On Tuesday a cross party of politicians has launched legal action against Johnson to prevent him from forcing through a no-deal Brexit by suspending parliament.

A group of politicians including the newly elected Jo Swinson for the Lib Dems, Joanna Cherry QC and MP along with Labour MP Jess Philips.

The group has asked the Court of Session in Scotland to lawfully declare that Johnson cannot advise the Queen to shut parliament.
