More than half of those surveyed believed that the Web would be more useful than apps in the future, reports Inc wire. About 59 per cent agreed that in 2020 “there will be a widespread belief that, compared to apps, the Web is more important and useful and is the dominant factor in people’s lives.” The answer then? Its doing fine.
That’s not to say that mobile apps will decline in popularity and importance. Lee Rain states “The web isn’t dead, but it is changing”. Smart phone users will climb by 50 per cent in the next four years, according to the survey. Even so, the experts seem sure that the Web will remain the backbone for information, while apps will provide a great mobile add-on.
