BT offers £30,000 cash prize for UK’s “most innovative” digital businesses

BT has partnered with, the technology startups incubator, TechHub to launch a competition to identify and reward new “ideas that will change lives” and make a difference to public services such as health and education.

Searching for the UK’s “most innovative” new digital businesses, the BT Infinity Labs SME Award: Digital Innovation in the Public Sector competition will award the overall winner with a £15,000 cash prize, six months mentoring from BT and use of TechHub’s flexible workspaces in London or Swansea. Two runners-up will each receive cash prizes of £7,500 each.

With a goal to showcase the country’s small and medium enterprise digital innovation, the competition will be open for entries until Sunday 22 February and eligible applicants will need to demonstrate “originality, creativity and innovation” in how their business idea helps UK citizens.

Entries will be judged by a panel of industry leaders including vice president of BT digital services and partnerships Robin Ilbert, TechHub co-founder and CEO Elizabeth Varley and Stephen Allott, Crown Representative for SMEs, Cabinet Office
