The competition tasked creative agencies to showcase their creativity in developing a show stopping ad for a client specifically tailored for use on buses.
The national competition winner has been announced as The Compassion in World Farming, who were awarded £200,000 worth of bus advertising with CBS Outdoor UK, plus £2,000 worth of London shopping vouchers for the creative team.
Joyce D’Silva, Director of Public Affairs at Compassion in World Farming, comments: “We came up against some stiff competition with some really creative ideas for the ads, so we’re thrilled to have won. Bus advertising is a perfect platform for us as it’s a great way of getting the public to support our campaign to end the horrendous export trade in live animals.”

In the regional category, Williams Group, MINI scooped the prize, winning a £25,000 city specific bus advertising campaign, including £2,000 worth of shopping vouchers for the creative team.
Terry Mugan, Marketing Manager at Williams Group, MINI comments: “We really enjoyed creating our entry for the competition along with our agency 438 Marketing, so to win is just fantastic! The bus format couldn’t have been more fitting for the MINI Countryman and we’re really looking forward to seeing our winning campaign on the streets of Manchester City Centre.”
Jason Cotterrell, UK Country for CBS Outdoor comments: “We had some fantastic entries to the competition and it was great to see such amazing creativity showcased in this way – we want to say a big congratulations to our winners. On average, buses cover 700 miles a week along their routes, which has huge potential as they target not only their passengers, but also pedestrians on the street and motorists”
The competition was designed to advocate the bus medium for advertising and showcase the creativity and potential this format has in targeting consumers who are out and about going about their daily lives.
