The Awards, celebrating their 22nd year, offer franchisees the opportunity to showcase their inspirational stories of success. From turning pioneering business ideas into reality, developing new community initiatives, or achieving growth despite the challenges of a difficult economic climate, the Awards recognise the individuals which have demonstrated best practice in franchising.
This year’s awards will include an overall winner, as well as winners across five regions – London & South East, South West & South Wales, Midlands & North Wales, North, and Scotland & Northern Ireland. Franchisors are able to enter up to five franchisees for the awards, with one nomination per region.
2010 overall winner, Gerald Thompson of McDonald’s in Manchester and Oldham, (pictured above) said: “I feel extremely proud to be named the 2010 bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year. It’s a great honour and one which I couldn’t have achieved without the great support of my team.”
This year’s Gold Winner will be named bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year and receive £5,000 from HSBC, together with a commemorative trophy. The Silver and Bronze Winners will receive £3,000 and £2,000 respectively, courtesy of HSBC. The five regional winners will each receive £500, again courtesy of HSBC

The nominations close on 20 June 2011 and finalists will be invited for interview with the judging panel on 27 and 28 July.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner, being held at the NEC in Birmingham, on 29 September 2011.
