London Enterprise Festival will bring together leaders of today & tomorrow

The 10-day enterprise festival includes an event dedicated to the design and fashion industry that will take place on the 16th March and will see its most respected pioneers gather in the city to share their insights and experiences with aspiring entrepreneurs and industry professionals.

Panellists include:

• Will Hobhouse, Chairman, Heal’s
• Peter Williams, Chairman, Jaeger
• Marcus Fairs, Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Dezeen
• James Bilefield, Entrepreneur, Investor & Advisor

The London Enterprise Festival (LEF) will celebrate the diverse range of business opportunities available in London by going well beyond the traditional finance and tech sectors. Each day will cover a different industry, with sector-specific events designed to connect London’s aspiring entrepreneurs with the relevant knowledge and local networks they need to set up successful business of their own.

Industries covered range from financial services, fashion and food to social enterprise and healthcare. As well as providing unparalleled insight from well-established brands, the LEF encourages co-operation between budding entrepreneurs, sharing skills and ideas to build the businesses of the future.

Will Hobhouse, Chairman, Heal’s and one of the panelists for the design and fashion industry event, said: “The face of design and retail is changing; it’s all about different and more personalised experiences. Embracing new technologies, such as 3D printing and laser cutting is crucial, as it offers unprecedented flexibility and customisation for both customers and retailers.

We’d like to communicate to the next generation of entrepreneurs that the key to any kind of successful retail strategy is good design, craftsmanship and authenticity; shoppers seek out personalisation and something special for themselves – not a commodity or ‘just more stuff’! It’s more about where and how it was made, about “functioning” luxury.

Retail is no longer bound by territory; e-commerce is placing a global market at your fingertips, making it more competitive. I am looking forward to discussing retail’s challenges with entrepreneurs at the London Enterprise Festival; we all need to be our own shopkeepers across all platforms, be that exclusive collaborations, e-commerce or physical space.”

The design and fashion industry event will be chaired by Business Matters Managing Editor Richard Alvin, who is also founder of media and fashion private equity company Audere Capital and speaking about the panellists Alvin said: “To be able to get knowledge from some of the UKs leading specialists is an invaluable resource that most people cannot get so the LEF is something that I am proud to be able to be involved in.”

Erez Nounou, organizer of London Enterprise Festival, said: “We are delighted to welcome veterans of the industry and entrepreneurs such as Will Hobhouse (Heal’s), Peter Williams (Jaeger), Marcus Fairs (Dezeen), and James Bilefield (LEF). The expert panel will discuss the benefits and challenges that come with innovation taking place in the industry. From the institution to the startup, this event is sure to highlight the wealth of opportunities available for entrepreneurs who want to break in.”

All profits from the LEF will be reinvested in local enterprise initiatives to create a resounding social impact and boost entrepreneurship among Londoners.
