Unemployment falls by 63,000

The latest statistics from The Office for National Statistics have shown that the number of unemployed individuals has called by 63,000 to 2.33 million during the three months to January. It also said the number of people in employment has risen to 30.19 million.

Average earnings also rose by 1.4 per cent when compared to the same time last year and the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance fell to 1.17 million, a drop of 34,600.
