Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg launches Made: 2012 to be held in Sheffield

Running between 19-22 September, the festival will bring together more than 3,000 British inventors, designers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and UK policy-makers for a three-day masterclass on creating and building a fast-growth business.

A stellar line-up of speakers has also been unveiled, including Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones CBE, MOBO Awards founder, Kanya King; Cobra Beer Chairman and founder, Lord Bilimoria; founder of Ariadne Capital, Julie Meyer; founding Dragons’ Den panellist and founder, School for Startups, Doug Richard; Wayne Hemingway, founder, Red or Dead and Robin Rowland, CEO, Yo! Sushi.

Returning to the festival will be Secretary of State for Business,Innovation and Skills, Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, who will be joined by: LordYoung of Graffham, the Prime Minister’s Enterprise Advisor; Rt Hon David Blunkett MP, former Home Secretary and MP for Sheffield, Brightside and Hillsborough; and Nick Baird, Chief Executive, UKTI.

Nick Clegg commented: “This year’s MADE: The Entrepreneur Festival will celebrate the very best of UK enterprise. From iconic British designer Wayne Hemingway tomanufacturer Charles Morgan of The Morgan Motor Company, the event will showcase this country’s brilliant business talent.

“The Coalition Government is committed to being on the side of the entrepreneur. The number of new business start-ups last year was one of thehighest in our history – and we want to encourage that trend.

“And I am particularly proud that this great event is taking place in Sheffield, once again giving us a chance to showcase the innovation and creativity of this great city.”

The timetable for the tree days will be:
Wednesday 19 September: E20: The Entrepreneurs’ Summit at Chatsworth
Twenty of the UK’s top entrepreneurs will come together to develop an entrepreneur action plan around youth unemployment. Special event hosted by the Duke of Devonshire. Invitation only.

Thursday 20 September: MADE in Britain
Brilliant panel discussions, keynote speeches, inspiration “shots”, exhibitions and fringe events on building and growing a British business.

Friday 21 September: Going Global
Supported by UKTI, a one-day event dedicated to expanding your business overseas and cracking new international markets.
