Apprentice boardroom row ‘escalates into bitter catfight’ outside Lord Sugar’s office

Show candidates Selina Waterman-Smith and Charleine Wain were allegedly involved in a tussle after they left the boardroom following the filming of last Wednesday’s show.

Viewers have watched the pair’s mutual hatred grow since the latest series of the show hit screens earlier this month.

But it emerged this morning that the two women scuffled as they left the studio used to film the highly-charged boardroom scenes.

Events company owner Selina told the Sunday Mirror that Charleine hit her in the back. She added: ‘I could see her rushing at me, so I pushed her.’

The paper reported that another of Lord Sugar’s hopeful’s, April Jackson, had to step in to separate the two women.

A show insider said: ‘Selina pushed Charleine after they argued. It was a quick, single push which was witnessed by several people including members of the show team. At no point did Charleine initiate physical contact or respond to Selina’s push.’

The two women both claim the other has been bullying them during the filming of the business show, in which executive wannabes battle it out to go into partnership with business mogul Lord Sugar.

Selina said the fight was sparked when Charleine claimed she had ‘played on the fact that my parents were dead’ during the boardroom exchanges.

During the scenes, Selena cut across Charleine by saying: ‘Charleine, we’re not talking to you.’
Charleine then said Selena was ‘like a irritating wasp at a picnic’.

A spokesman for the programme said: ‘The situation was dealt with quickly and professionally.’

Selina Waterman-Smith has already become one of the most high-profile candidates in the latest series of the show, which has launched the careers of commentator Katie Hopkins and glamour girl Luisa Zissman.
