The competition tasks creative agencies to showcase their creativity in developing a show stopping ad for a client specifically tailored for use on buses.
The Creative Bus Challenge competition is split into two categories namely a National Advertiser Category, which asks creative teams to design an ad across T-sides, Supersides and Mega Rears as well as a Regional Category for those smaller more locally focussed advertisers who must design for Streetliners and Mega Rears.
The creative teams behind each of the winning ideas will be awarded bus advertising to the value of £200,000 for national advertisers or a £25,000 city specific campaign for the regional category. They will also take home £2000 worth of shopping vouchers.
Bus advertising reaches right into the heart of the local community, so is an effective medium for SMEs looking to target consumers in their local area.
Mike Moran, CBS Outdoor UK says: “On average, buses cover 700 miles a week along their routes, which has huge potential as they target not only their passengers, but also pedestrians on the street and motorists and because of this, the medium allows messages to really resonate with a local audience. This competition is designed to highlight this and we’re looking forward to entrants really putting their creativity to the test!”
The competition is designed to advocate the bus medium for advertising and showcase the creativity and potential this format has in targeting consumers who are out and about going about their daily lives.
Entries can be sent in from 19th May with the closing date on 24th June. Winners will be announced in September 2011.
