The Awards represent an opportunity for the UK’s best franchisors to gain recognition for their achievements in 2010; a year when many businesses had to work harder than ever to compete successfully in a tough economic climate.
Finalists will now meet the judges face-to-face to bring to life the people, the passion and the stories behind their businesses which will inspire the next generation of franchisors and franchisees.
Franchisors shortlisted are as follows:
Belvoir Lettings, Dream Doors, Belvoir Lettings, Cash Generator, Little Kickers, Expense Reduction Analysts (UK), Driver Hire, Granite Transformations, McDonald’s, etyres, Auditel, Home Instead Senior Care, Autosmart, O2
The winners in each of the three categories will be announced at the annual gala dinner on 16 June 2011 at the Heritage Motor Centre, Warwickshire. (pictured are last year’s winners Gerald Thompson of McDonald’s in Manchester and Oldham)
Brian Smart, Director General – bfa, said, “The franchise industry continues to go from strength to strength. The bfa HSBC Franchisor of the Year Awards present the perfect platform to acknowledge the success stories which make our industry strong and this year the nominations have been as good as ever. Each year the awards unearth fantastic success stories and demonstrations of ethical franchising at work. We look forward to awarding those that truly set the standard for outstanding management, support and innovation.”
Cathryn Hayes, Head of Franchising, HSBC, said, “The nominations presented us with a clear picture of the quality of franchising in the UK today. The finalists represent a variety of sectors and business size, but all display a wealth of expertise in what excellence in franchising means in practice. This year’s entries in the HSBC Franchisee Support Award have revealed just how much franchisors are doing to support their franchisees in tough times which really struck a chord with the judges. To reflect this we have increased the number of finalists in the category and look forward to hearing more about the strategies these businesses have employed to allow their franchisees to be the best they can.”
