Getting to know you: Faiza Seth

What do you currently do?

Currently the CEO of Casa Forma, a bespoke luxury architectural and interior design firm based in London. I manage a team of 15 and focus on developing and refining the branding and marketing of Casa Forma.

What is your inspiration in business?
My inspiration in business are self starters like Warren Buffet, Steve Jobs, and Jack Welch. They were able to ‘think different’ and represent the ‘American Dream’.

Who do you admire?
I admire Warren Buffet for his work ethic, positivity, down to earthness, and philanthropic efforts.

Looking back, are there things you would have done differently?
After my negative experience with my ex-business partner, I now make sure to have a proper legal contract. When I got into partnership with my ex-business partner, I had a 3 page simple contract only and based my previous contract on trust. Although in theory this is nice, you need to protect your business.

What defines your way of doing business?
I am a collaborative leader who believes in consensus building. I think this is the best way to get things done, because you have buy in from every member of the team which results in smoother implementation. Casa Forma has a very meritocratic structure and I have an open door policy so anyone can speak to me at anytime. I think increased communication results in better business processes.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out?
Never give up. If you can dream it, you can achieve it.
