Teachers To Your Home is a tutoring business appointing qualified and experienced teachers as tutors, to provide high quality home tuition and home schooling for families, schools, local authorities and businesses, across the UK.
The company was founded in January 2015 by Gill and Jim Dixon, previously both teachers and senior leaders within the Independent, Grammar and State School Sectors. The business was originally envisaged to provide only a service across Oxfordshire but, over the last three years, has expanded rapidly now providing a service right across the UK. Teachers To Your Home currently works with over 18,000 qualified and experienced teachers, who also choose to offer their skills as high quality home tutors.

Tuition in the UK is largely an unregulated profession, with many tuition agencies and websites offering undergraduates, students, retired academics and others, as tutors. WHAT MAKES TEACHERS TO YOUR HOME DIFFERENT?
ALL OF THE TUTORS ARE “PROPER” TEACHERS: Unlike many other tuition agencies, all 18,000 tutors are qualified and experienced teachers. The majority are current and full-time teachers in schools across the UK, across the independent, grammar, academy and state sectors. All are subject specialists; reliable and up-to-date with a changing curriculum, and the current requirements of exam boards and specifications.
THE CLIENT CAN CHOOSE THEIR TEACHER: Unlike many other tuition agencies, the families and clients are able to talk directly with the teacher before making any decisions. An initial phone call enables the teacher to introduce themselves to the client more fully; and enables the client to talk directly with the teacher, to see if they are a good fit for their needs; in terms of their character and style of the teacher, as much as their skill and experience. Tuition works at its very best when there is an excellent rapport between the student and tutor.
TUITION IS FULLY FLEXIBLE AND CONVENIENT: Unlike many other tuition agencies, there are no upfront costs, commitments or minimum requirements for lessons. Tuition can start and stop at any time.
TUITION IS PROVIDED AT THE HOME: Unlike many other tuition agencies, teachers are required to teach at the client’s home, at their convenience: weekdays, evenings, weekends or holidays; generally, one hour lessons are recommended for younger children, 90+ minutes for seniors and adults; though the rhythms and routines for lessons can be flexible and as required. This enables parents to stay close to the process, they can sit in on some of the lessons, talk with the teacher each week and have a very clear understanding of the progress being made by their child.
TEACHERS TO YOUR HOME OFFERS THE VERY HIGHEST LEVELS OF SAFEGUARDING: All teachers have Enhanced DBS Clearance (previously known as the CRB check). Teacher also provide tuition at the client’s home, in a supervised setting, to ensuring the highest standards in terms of child and tutor safeguarding.
TEACHERS TO YOUR HOME PROVIDES A PROMPT AND PERSONAL SERVICE: Unlike many other tuition agencies, all of the clients can talk directly with a consultant, who will answer any questions and be able to advise. They are open long hours and over the weekend. They take away the hassle of long and fruitless searches with online tuition websites. They can generally arrange the appointment of a teacher within 2 days, offering one or two or three teachers for each family to consider.
