Young entrepreneurs from across the UK reach the Grand Final of National Enterprise Competition

taking place in London on Thursday 21st March 2013. We are delighted to announce the finalists are:

  • Beechwood School, Slough
  • Carr Manor Community School, Leeds
  • Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy, Birmingham
  • Slough & Eton College, Slough
  • Southfields Academy, London

The students are finalists in the 2013 Apax-Mosaic Enterprise Challenge, a national annual competition that gives 11-16 year olds first-hand experience of the world of business. Supported throughout by over 300 Mosaic business mentors, the students, from a wide variety of faiths and backgrounds, are encouraged to develop enterprise skills that develop confidence and self-efficacy.

80% of Enterprise Challenge participants live in the 20% most deprived communities.

The finalists will compete in a Grand Final where they will pitch their business ideas to a prestigious judging panel* where they will be scored on the quality of their pitch, before an overall Enterprise Challenge 2013 winner is announced. The finalists convene at 12 noon at international law firm Hogan Lovells International LLP, Atlantic House, Holborn Viaduct, London EC1A 2FG. Here they will do battle for a top prize of £2500 cash for their school, plus £500 seed funding to turn their idea into reality. SBTV entrepreneur and face of Google Chrome Jamal Edwards is this year’s Guest of Honour.
