Wi-Fi for London Overground

This follows follows Virgin’s pledge to offer free connectivity on the Underground in time for this summer’s Olympics.

Passengers of the overground will be able to benefit from one hour free access by registering at one of the participating stations.

The first 12 stations to benefit from the new system will be: Willesden Junction, West Hampstead, New Cross Gate, Forest Hill, West Croydon, Norwood Junction, Surrey Quays, Dalston, Wapping, Hackney Central, Kensington Olympia and Shepherd’s Bush.

Gary David Smith is the co-founder of Prism IT solutions, he comments “We have experienced a huge increase in requests from companies hoping to put home-working plans into force before the games,”

“For many companies this will involve using ‘cloud’ technology but they have to consider the security and storage of their data, back-ups and how the cloud will cope with internet shut downs.”
