Outrage in America as Cadbury products are banned from US shelves

British expats have been left stockpiling chocolate after US confectioner Hershey’s reached an agreement that will stop the sale of British made Cadbury’s in America.

Hershey’s owns the license to produce chocolate under the name Cadbury’s Dairy Milk in the US, and said the sale of British made chocolate infringed on this.

Using the hashtag #boycotthershey, fans of Cadbury products, such as the iconic Dairy Milk bars and Cadbury Creme Eggs, called for a boycott of the American chocolate giant on Twitter and Facebook. A protest petition on MoveOn.org had over 22,000 signatures by 1 p.m. GMT on Wednesday.
