The Mayor of London helped to launch the first ever dedicated online hub for the capital’s thriving digital industry on Monday. Sponsored by IBM, and created by Gust, the Tech.London website includes all the latest information and resources that people in London can use to access opportunities in the tech sector, connect with each other, and grow their businesses.

Content includes London’s latest startups, investors, events, jobs, classes, blogs, videos, workspaces, accelerators, incubators, and other tech or startup resources.

The launch event took place at City Hall, with opening remarks from Jimmy Wales, founder, Wikipedia and community toasts from Russ Shaw, founder of Tech London Advocates, Stuart Cochran, CTO, Huddle, and Will Bentinck from the Makers Academy. The event highlighted why London is the tech capital of Europe and how Tech.London will now bring it all together and be a powerful catalyst for growth.

Commenting on the launch of Tech.London, The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson MP said: “With our unrivalled mix of investors, talent and creativity it is hardly surprising that tech businesses and entrepreneurs are clamouring to be part of the incredible London tech story. Tech.London is where it all comes together – providing access to our booming tech and startup economy, from entrepreneurs with a great idea, to investors looking for the next big thing.”

Sandy Carter, General Manager, IBM Cloud Ecosystem and Developers, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to announce the launch of Tech.London, a centralised platform built on IBM Bluemix for all of London’s technology and startup community. Through this new digital hub, IBM’s cloud technology is helping to connect and unite developers from across London, leading to new business ideas and continued growth for the local economy.”

Over 200 London tech and startup community members attended the launch, with representatives from across the sector joining in to celebrate all that London has to offer the tech and start up industry and toast to the launch of the platform as an invaluable resource for the community.
