BizSpace, the UK’s largest provider of flexible workspace with offices and workshops across Britain, has officially opened its first business centre in Wales.

Councillor Russell Goodway, Cabinet Member for Investment and Development, and Mark Coleman, Business Development Officer at Cardiff Council, officially opened the new £6 million Trafalgar House business centre, which is located at Fitzalan Place.

The opening also saw an inspirational speech from Rachael Flanagan, who shares BizSpace’s vision for supporting Cardiff’s local businesses and start-ups and discussed her journey building ‘Mrs Bucket’, her award-winning cleaning business, when she was just 18 years old.

Trafalgar House is a landmark five-storey building offering 52,000 sq ft of high-quality office space in the heart of the city’s business district. BizSpace has invested a six-figure sum into refurbishment of the fourth and fifth floors, creating a business centre with managed flexible office space ranging from 130 sq ft to 700 sq ft. Together with a spacious breakout area, impressive reception area, fast broadband and a dedicated on-site manager, the space has been adapted to suit the needs of the region’s small businesses and SMEs.

A short walk from Queen Street Railway Station and the new St David’s shopping development, Trafalgar House has on-site car parking and good transport connections, with access to the M4 through Newport Road and Central Link.

Councillor Russell Goodway said:” It was a pleasure to officially open the new Biz Space office in Cardiff and to welcome them to our capital city. I am pleased that the building will be used to meet the growing demand in the city for small flexible spaces and help to create and nurture the businesses of the future for Cardiff

Emma Long, Commercial Director at BizSpace, said: “With a strong business community and a first-rate talent pool, Cardiff is an excellent place to set up a business and we look forward to working with the area’s brightest SMEs and entrepreneurs to provide them with the space and support to build their companies or get their ideas off the ground.”
