Getting To Know You: EMEA MD, Amobee, David Barker

What do you currently do?

I am the SVP and MD EMEA for Amobee, a global digital marketing technology company. As Amobee’s most senior executive in the region, I am responsible for all elements of the Amobee business in Europe and the Middle East.

I joined the company at a very exciting time. We have now integrated Adconion and Kontera to shift Amobee’s focus from mobile advertising to digital marketing. We want to be a one-stop shop for all the digital marketing needs of CMOs, agencies and brands.

Obviously Amobee’s core strength is in mobile advertising, which is really growing in Asia. But now we can bring ads cross channel, cross device and deliver social, email and video ad campaigns globally as a part of our full breadth of digital technology. With the Kontera acquisition, we have a very unique technology which enables us to bring an exciting new platform to the market soon. On the whole, the acquisitions are driving a whole new suite of products so that Amobee continues to remain the company defining digital marketing.

What is your inspiration in the business?
The ability to do business with the most innovative and exciting technology companies that operate globally, such as Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter, and work alongside with the most hard-working and inspiring people, in an industry that is always growing and looking to the future.
