I was drawn to the utilities sector through the family business. It’s a field that directly impacts every household and business, making it both challenging and rewarding. As for its evolution, I see technology playing a pivotal role in transforming how utilities are managed and delivered. Smart grids, IoT devices for monitoring utility use, and renewable energy sources are just the beginning of a major shift towards more sustainable and efficient utility management.
How do you balance the demands of being a COO with your personal interests and hobbies?
Balancing these demands comes down to good time management and prioritizing what’s important. I make sure to schedule time for personal activities just like any business meeting. Flying, for instance, is not just a hobby but also a great way to clear my mind and gain a new perspective on things, which actually benefits my role as COO.

The most recent patent involves a new method for enhancing electrical grid reliability. This invention helps predict and prevent outages before they occur, using real-time data analytics and networked sensors. The goal is to minimize downtime and improve service reliability for consumers, which is critical in today’s increasingly digital world.

When the pandemic hit, we had to quickly pivot our operational strategies to ensure safety and uninterrupted service. We accelerated the adoption of digital tools for remote monitoring and management of utilities.
