Laundrapp, the on-demand laundry and dry cleaning app, has announced it has closed a £4 million funding round.
The round has been backed by a powerful group of investors including Michael Spencer, founder of interdealer broker ICAP plc, and Jeff Blue, the former strategic development director at Sports Direct International.
The funding will enable Laundrapp’s continued rapid expansion across the UK and a substantial investment in marketing.
Co-founded by Dom Perks and Ed Relf, Laundrapp offers customers a full dry cleaning and laundry service, using an app on their smartphones and free collection an delivery. The whole service takes the stress out of washing at competitive prices. The service launched in January 2015 and is already operating in three cities across the UK with a view for further expansion in the coming months.
IPGL, Michael Spencer’s private investment group was a cornerstone investor in the funding round whilst he also invested on a personal basis. As part of the expansion drive, Tina Kilmister-Blue, chief executive of IPGL, is joining the Laundrapp board.

Laundrapp is run by a team of experienced technologists, and entrepreneurs. Ed Relf was previously the CMO / CCO of Mind Candy, the company behind Moshi Monsters, while Dom Perks, ex-McKinsey, has driven a series of start-ups and turnarounds. Antony Pink, Laundrapp’s COO, was previously a Strategy Consultant at Accenture, while CTO Nick Bransby-Williams, previously CTO at Sooqini, complete the executive founding team.
Laundrapp is available across all major smartphone and tablet devices across iPhone, Android and Amazon platforms. The easy to use app enables customers to outsource their laundry and dry cleaning in a simple, smart and convenient way and is one of London’s highest profile and fast growing startups.
