Michelle Mone sells majority holding of Ultimo to focus on new beauty business

The Scottish tycoon announced on Saturday that she has sold the lion share of the Ultimo underwear company that she founded with her now ex husband with the help of the Princes Trust after failing to find a bra to give her the support she needed when attending a black tie event.

Mone then also confirmed that far from putting her feet up the workaholic, who claims to only need 4 hours sleep a night, is also planning to pursue TV work on top of buying out her partners in her UTan and beauty company. She also plans to buy a house in Los Angeles to add to her London and Scottish homes.

Mone went on to add:

Mone who was awarded an OBE for her services to business dedicated every waking hour to her business, and at the time of her divorce from her then husband with whom she had jointly run the company, after he had an affair with one of the company’s designers, sold a minority shareholding to her suppliers to fund the divorce deal which allowed her to stay in control.

The company founder who famously modelled her own products (pictured above) previously said Ultimo was her life, but in the past month the prolific user of Twitter had shared her speaking engagements in Los Angeles sharing the stage with Al Pacino and trips to New York already identifying a change in emphasis in her professional life.

So will this move mean that Michelle will be replacing her fellow Scot Duncan Bannatyne in Dragons’ Den as he has already announced that he won’t be returning for another series.
