MassChallenge Announces top 26 startups competing for £500,000 in cash awards

Winning startups will be announced at the MassChallenge UK Awards Ceremony & Fundraiser​ on October 22nd at the Old Truman Brewery. Judges will select 10-20 startups from the top 26, who will win equity-free, non-dilutive grants of either £50,000 or £25,000, totaling £500,000.

“Our entrepreneurs had a game-changing summer and I’m very proud of all of the 2015 finalists,” said MassChallenge Founder and CEO John Harthorne. “These top 26 startups are poised to make a tremendous impact across a variety of industries – from transportation to healthcare to robotics. Each of these startups has great potential, and I look forward to celebrating their achievements with the community at the Awards Ceremony.”

The 2015 final judges include industry leaders and visionaries ​Henry Lane Fox, CEO and Co-founder of FoundersForum, Bill Morrow, Co-founder and Director of Angels Den, Steve Perry, Founder and Co-Creator of Visa Europe Collab, Jeremy Bassett, Director of the Unilever Foundry and Nadia Crandall, Co-Chair of Harvard Business School Angels of London.

In addition to distributing the £500,000 in awards, the 2015 Awards Ceremony will include pitches from the 26 startups and a showcase of all 90 MassChallenge UK finalists. Featured speakers at the ceremony will include a successful British female entrepreneur and the founder of a highly successful navigation app.

MassChallenge also announced today updated impact metrics for its 835 alumni startups, including the 218 from its 2015 cohorts in Boston and London. Since its first program in 2010, MassChallenge startups have raised over £700 million $1.1 billion) in funding, generated over £300 million ($520 million) in revenue and created over 6,500 jobs.
