Duncan Bannatyne calls Karren Brady disgusting hypocrite for Sir Philip Green resignation refusal

Dragons’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne has branded businesswoman Karren Brady a ‘hypocrite’ for not speaking out against billionaire Sir Philip Green.

The Scottish entrepreneur, and former Business Matters columnist, blasted The Apprentice judge after she refused to resign as chair of the business tycoon’s Top Shop.

In the past, Baroness Brady has been vocal in her condemnation of other famous men facing allegations of sexual harassment but has not done the same for the Arcadia Group tycoon.

Last week, when the TV judge, who is also the vice-chairman of West Ham United, was asked if she would resign from her position of Sir Philip’s Taveta Investments she replied: ‘Why should I?’

Bannatyne told The Sunday Mirror: ‘She’s a hypocrite. She says she’s a champion of women and I think it’s disgusting that she’s on the payroll of a billionaire who hasn’t got a great history with women.’

The Dragons’ Den star’s comments come amid the recent storm of allegations that have emerged about the Arcadia Group tycoon’s conduct in the workplace- allegations which he strenuously denies.

It also comes after Theresa May hinted that the businessman could lose his knighthood after he was accused of groping a female executive following a Daily Telegraph investigation.

Sir Philip denies allegations of unlawful behaviour and sexual harassment.

Previously, Brady has been critical of men who have been accused of sexual assaults on women but has not commented on the allegations facing the BHS boss.

She criticised American film producer Harvey Weinstein, accused of multiple sexual assaults on women, and spoke out against Sky sports presenters Andy Gray and Richard Keys after they were overheard making sexist comments.
