Leading business school and coding school team up to launch full-time MBA

MBA

IÉSEG School of Management and Le Wagon, a leading international coding school, are joining forces to launch a unique full-time MBA program that will provide participants with a dual expertise in management/leadership and in coding/technical skills.

This one-year MBA in Leadership and Coding is based in Paris, France and will open in October 2020. Taught entirely in English, it is designed for professionals with at least 3 years of work experience, and aims to develop managers and changemakers with a fully integrated program, combining state-of-the-art business and coding courses.

The new MBA program will help professionals to understand the increasing complexity of a changing digital world and to help them to leverage their analytical skills and their versatility in dealing with both the languages of business and tech.

Dr. Ghassan Yacoub, professor at IÉSEG and Academic Director of the program, explains: “The way business is carried out is changing rapidly largely due to ongoing innovation and an increasing integration between business and technology. Managers will therefore need new competences to manage, lead, and shape the future of business. This new MBA offers a unique 2-in-1 learning opportunity aimed at : developing an agile and transversal managerial mindset to become changemakers;  and acquiring coding skills and equipping managers with comprehensive skill sets to stand out in dynamic environments.”

CEO of Le Wagon, Boris Paillard, notes: “Managers of the future will need to be able to combine outstanding human and business skills to lead their teams with care towards sustainable strategies, along with coding skills to understand deeply how technology works. The latter can be used to streamline processes and invent the products and services of tomorrow. This new MBA is a unique opportunity for participants to learn both skill sets and differentiate themselves as a manager.”

A unique integrated program developed by two leading institutions

At a time when technology and digitalization continue to transform business, this MBA will combine and integrate 300 hours of management and leadership courses with 200 hours of courses related to coding that will be integrated across four modules and a final capstone project:

  • Building the mindset covering core topics such as strategy, corporate finance; and management of information systems as well as the foundations of programming.
  • 2 modules on Leading people and coding organizations with management topics such as leadership, change management, marketing, HRM as well as tech/coding focused topics such as emerging technologies (AI, ML blockchain), software architecture, web development and product design.
  • Specializations through a series of electives including, but not limited to, Corporate and Business Strategy, Fintech, Omnichannel Marketing, Leveraging Big Data, Cybersecurity.
  • Professional Capstone project:  in this module, participants will work on an integrated professionally orientated project (via a consulting project, professional thesis, or internship) bringing together the different skills learned in previous modules in both Management and Coding.

Graduates of the MBA program will develop the skills to access to both generalist and more specialized roles linked to their preferred sector or position.

This new program has been launched in the framework of the two institutions strategic partnership, which began in September last year.
