Santander named ‘Business Bank of the Year for record tenth time

Santander was also awarded the title of ‘Best Business Current Account Provider’, the tenth time the banking group has won the award and also walked away with the ‘Best No Notice Business Deposit Account Provider’ category.

Commenting on the wins, Head of UK Corporate and Commercial Banking at Santander, Steve Pateman said: “This prestigious award validates Santander’s strategy to become the SME bank of choice and is the fourth consecutive year Santander has won the award for ‘Business Bank of the Year’.

Lee Tillcock, Editor of Business Moneyfacts, said: “Santander performed consistently well during 2011 and Business Moneyfacts is delighted to recognise this excellence by awarding it ‘Business Bank of the Year’. This award measures all aspects of business finance, including products, innovation and service. It is assessed by our experienced research teams and is based on the data collected, analysed and displayed in Business Moneyfacts magazine and its online systems over the whole year.

“Santander’s further successes in the ‘Best Business Current Account Provider’ and ‘Best No Notice Business Deposit Account Provider’ categories not only demonstrates the good value products Santander has offered over the past year, but also demonstrates that changing the fee free banking proposition was a good decision.

“Finally, we were delighted to award Steve Pateman the Outstanding Achievement Award. He has done a remarkable job at Santander and he thoroughly deserves it.”

Pateman said: “We are delighted to have been awarded ‘Business Bank of the Year’ for the fourth consecutive year. I’m also honoured to have received the Outstanding Achievement Award for my work in the Santander Corporate, Commercial and Business Banking division. We have made good progress in the last year, because we have a great team and great customers that trust us with their business and I’m proud to be a part of it.
