A Suit That Fits.com chalks up top honour at Drapers Record awards

The glamorous event, presented by model Lisa Snowdon, was attended by key industry figures to celebrate and commend the very best in fashion.

In 2006, A Suit That Fits started as the world’s first online hand-tailored suit making company, the business has since developed a branch network of 26 locations nationwide and offers the largest range of quality suits in the UK.

Customers have the flexibility to design individually hand-tailored suits and shirts over the internet or in a branch at affordable prices. Warren Bennett founded the business with school friend David Hathiramani, with the idea originating while he was volunteering at a school in Nepal, where he met a tailoring family who made him a fine hand tailored suit.

Bennett and Hathiramani originally trialled A Suit That Fits in Hampstead market, after selling their first suit within twenty minutes of opening. The business has been self-funded from the start through positive cash flow and now, four years on, has a team of 35.

A Suit That Fits has developed innovative technology to present suits in a completely different way to other tailors. Their Suit Wizard enables customers to choose from over 40 billion different suit design combinations in a matter of minutes. For the first time customers can go through the entire process of buying individually hand tailored garments online.

“An innovative concept with a personal approach really makes this etailer stand out from the crowd. The Style Wizard allows users to create personalised profiles on the site, imputing their own measurements online and using the tool to create bespoke garments. Online videos and blogs on the site bring the product and process to life and the vast range of fabrics, patterns and styles ensure the user is left with a bespoke garment and quite literally a suit that fits.” Commented Jessica Brown, Editor of Drapers.

“PayPal are delighted to once again sponsor the Smaller Etailer of the Year category at the 20th Drapers Awards. Online retailers continue to drive innovation; creativity and great customer experience and A Suit That Fits.com clearly represent this” commented the team at PayPal who sponsored the award.

2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the prestigious awards, recognising the achievements of businesses as diverse as independent boutiques, high street chains, innovative etailers, bestselling brands and inspirational collections.
