SecondScreen: The Invisible Tech Powering the Future of Business Events

It's safe to say that the UK is no stranger to being the centre of the business world. As one of Europe's hubs for global trade and industry—especially the capital, London—the country is a regular on the conference circuit.

In today’s noisy event tech market, where apps often overpromise and underdeliver, SecondScreen stands out by doing the opposite — it removes friction rather than adding it.

Developed by EventTech entrepreneur Stepan Danilov, the platform has quietly become an integral part of how modern business events function across Russia, the UAE, and soon, the UK.

SecondScreen is a web-based interaction layer designed specifically for business audiences who value speed, privacy, and clarity. Unlike traditional event apps that require downloads and logins, SecondScreen works instantly through the browser, allowing participants to connect with one another, respond to live polls, interact with speakers, and view dynamic content feeds in real time.

Danilov originally created SecondScreen as a response to the inefficiencies of in-person forums during the pre-pandemic era. “Too many events invest heavily in content but ignore the infrastructure that makes participation seamless. We built SecondScreen to bridge that gap, and it allowed us to develop other innovative digital products: Paparazzi shooting, Media Wall, iFrame Reportage, etc,” he explains.

The technology was most recently deployed at Emirates Fashion Week, where it powered large-scale media walls and real-time attendee interaction. Combined with other proprietary tools from Danilov’s company MeYou — including Expochats and Realtime.Media — the platform delivered an integrated digital experience without the burden of invasive registration forms or data harvesting.

SecondScreen will be one of the cornerstones of MeYou’s upcoming UK expansion. The integration of SecondScreen into these events aims to redefine participant engagement, merging live interaction, lead capture, and media generation into one lightweight, browser-based tool.

As the global event industry shifts toward hybrid formats and ESG-conscious models, tools like SecondScreen offer an important blueprint for making business events both greener and smarter. It is not merely a platform — it is a step toward a more connected, accessible, and purpose-driven event future.
